Our story
From two hotel pools to an island
Before Crystal Clear existed, Daniel Toh and Bernard Teng ran the aquatic facilities at Raffles Hotel and Westin Hotel. In the 1990s those were serious rooms to keep: one was Asia's top-ranked hotel, the other the world's tallest hotel. Water that thousands of discerning guests swam in, every day, with no margin for a bad reading.
In 1996 they founded Crystal Clear to bring that standard of care to properties across Singapore. The company grew the way service companies should: one well-kept pool at a time, into hotels, condominiums and commercial facilities island-wide.
In 2018, Japan-listed Daiki Axis Co., Ltd. acquired the company. Both founders remain in the business today, and the standard they set still runs it.

The journey so far
1996
Founded
Daniel Toh and Bernard Teng establish Crystal Clear after running the pool facilities at Raffles Hotel and Westin Hotel, then Asia's top-ranked hotel and the world's tallest.
2001
Ambassador Transit Hotel
Begin servicing the swimming pool at Changi Airport's Ambassador Transit Hotel, the first international airport transit hotel with a pool. The engagement runs for nearly a decade, to 2010.
2011
Universal Studios Singapore
Conduct water treatment for the play equipment pool at Universal Studios Singapore, part of Resorts World Sentosa, ahead of its grand opening.
2012
Incorporation
The partnership becomes Crystal Clear Contractor Pte Ltd to support its next phase of growth.
2018
Daiki Axis acquisition
Japan-listed Daiki Axis Co., Ltd. acquires the company. Both founders remain in the business today.
2026
30th anniversary
Crystal Clear marks thirty years of pool care in Singapore, from two hotel pools in 1996 to properties island-wide.

More than 40 field technicians work in dedicated zones across Singapore, trained on NEA requirements, safe chemical handling and the equipment they meet every day.
Reliability
Schedules kept, standards held, season after season. Nine years at one airport hotel pool says more than any slogan.
Compliance
The NEA cadence is our rhythm: poolside testing, monthly accredited-lab sampling and submissions on time.
Craft
Water chemistry does not tolerate guesswork. Our founders learned that at two of Asia's great hotels, and it still runs the company.
Track record
Built for large and complex facilities
Crystal Clear works across the property industry rather than one corner of it. Developers including Far East Organization and City Developments Limited, and managing agents including JLL, CBRE, Savills, Knight Frank, Edmund Tie and Chambers, have put properties in our care.
The work ranges from a single condominium pool to a property running pools, jacuzzis, fountains and ponds off the same plant room. In 2011 we carried out water treatment for the play equipment pool at Universal Studios Singapore, part of Resorts World Sentosa, ahead of its grand opening, and from 2001 we spent close to a decade on the pool at Changi Airport's Ambassador Transit Hotel, the first international airport transit hotel with a pool.
Much of that work is long-running. Many of the properties we look after have been with us for more than ten years.

Japanese environmental engineering, behind every visit
Daiki Axis is an environmental engineering group from Matsuyama, Japan, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and rooted in water treatment since 1958. Nearly seventy years of treatment engineering and technology now stands behind the work we do in Singapore.
The group builds and maintains water and wastewater treatment systems, alongside businesses in housing equipment and renewable energy. Its corporate slogan is PROTECT×CHANGE: protect the environment, change the future.
For our clients, the backing means three practical things: the financial stability of a listed parent, group standards applied to how we run and document our work, and access to Daiki Axis engineering knowledge and treatment technology when a facility needs more than routine care.
